my grand daughter has a 9 month old baby--living with the baby's dad. his name is on the birth certificate.-not married. he says he is leaving and taking the baby--a policeman told us in the state of florida, the mother has sole custody of the child--is this correct? can the father take the child and leave without the mother's consent? thank you

No. She has sole custody and he would be considered a felon is he does so.
