Question

My husband, myself and our 2 children are Canadians living in the U.S. My husband is now a U.S. citizen, but we are not. If we should die we were told we would have to pay a lot more in taxes since we are not US citizens. Do you know if this is true?

Answer

Would depend on your status in the US. Based on this there would be the rules of tax treaty between US-Canada that would apply.
