Can a Durable Power of Attorney continue beyond death in CA?
Answer
I have not researched whether there are any exceptions, but I am fairly certain it cannot.
Answer
Yep, they're not THAT durable...!
Answer
A power of attorney always terminates upon death.
Answer
The power dies with the person who gave the power of attorney. There is a small exception for handling post death matters like burial or whatever IF those are specifically given in the POA, otherwise, it is over when the final curtain call is made, so to speak.
