I have been displaced because of huge hole in the ceiling. i am paying a friend 50.00 dollars week to stay with them till i can get relocated. Is my apartment liable in any way.

You need to make a written request to repair to your landlord. Send it certified mail, return receipt requested. 7 days is considered a reasonable time to make repairs. If they are not made in that time, you may terminate the lease.
