My husbands ex is wanting to file child support on him, and i wanted to know if the child has to live with the mom in order to recive it. The child is actually living with the grandma.

Mom can file for child support. Dad has a duty to support the child regardless of whom the child resides with. Dad needs to see a family law attorney.
