Can a person file for Alimony 5 years after divorce was finalized with none asked for at that time?

Question

Can a person file for Alimony 5 years after divorce was finalized with none asked for at that time?

Answer

Sometimes. It would require a review of the final divorce judgment that was entered five years ago and some further information about the history of the marriage, to determine if it could be awarded in any particular case.

Answer

I agree with Mr. McCormick. The issue right now is whether the judgment terminated either parties right to seek spousal support.
