What is the proper role of art?
This is a highly subjective question involving both the person's opinion as well as the time period. Now, a common role of art is to turn a mirror to human life and emotions. Art of some periods was to make people think and inspire them to worship. At other times, art was considered sinful by many who considered it idolatry. Some art is political. Most art is to make people think in some way, but some is simply for asthetic beauty. The role of art is something for the individual to decide.
