Question

My son and estranged wife, now divorced, have supposedly given up all parental rights of my grandson to her adoptive (foster) parents without my being notified. How do I find out if my grandson is a ward of the court in foster care? and can I adopt him?

Answer

You should be able to make inquiry of your local DSS office to determine

whether it has any record of this matter which it would be willing to

share with you.

But, of course, if your grandson has already been adopted by foster parents, then there would be no way for you to also now adopt him.
