In what states are you able to waive your appearance in the final hearing for a marriage dissolution?

Since you posted in Ohio, the attorneys on this forum are probably only licensed in Ohio and a few other states. We are not qualified to answer a question pertaining to all 50 states. In Ohio, both parties must appear for a judge to grant a dissolution. For a divorce, if the other party cannot be located, it is possible for only one party to appear.
