How does a bad fuel pump perform?
Bad fuel pumps starve the engine of fuel. The result is either vehicles that do not start or will not achieve top speed. They loose horse power. If your vehicle has an electric fuel pump (most all cars run electric pumps now) it will usually fail after it has run for awhile and had a chance to get hot. The symptoms go like this. You drive say 100 miles and the car slows then stalls. It cools off and will run again in about an hour. Then you drive 80 miles and it stalls then you drive 50 miles it stalls finally it runs only for a few minutes then it wont start anymore.
