My husband's mother passed away a few years ago and her house is in his name, but mineral rights to the property are divided between him, his sister and his brother. Mineral payout is close to nothing. Maybe .60 cents a year. A man is interested in buying the house and putting rental trailers on the property. My question is if my husband sells the house, will he have to pay his brother and sister anything for their part of the mineral rights? The property is in Louisiana.

Your husband better make sure his mother's succession has been opened and the house and property is not listed. The succession may also say if the minerals are separate from the land.
