Question

I cerified a little to a dept collection i owe, they recieved it on march 14. On march 15 another company called and said they got it back as of the 15. All i wanted was the company orignal

creditor, amount, name on account. proof they have the right to collect this.

Answer

Hi,

I'm assuming your question is: Can the first debt collection company ignore your certified letter to them requesting the original creditor's name, amount you allegedly owe, and name on the account? The answer is yes -- they don't have to respond to your letter, but if they continue collection activity before responding to that letter validating any amount you might owe, then it is probably a violation of your rights.

You need to send the new company/collector a new certified letter requesting the information you had asked the first collector to provide you with.
