Why do brakes lights on 2003 Suburban come on by themselves after car has been shut off for hours?
You must have a faulty brake light switch...it connects to the brake pedal...if you look up to the top of your brake pedal, you will see a little "box" with a button that is released when the pedal is pushed down.
They are cheap and easy to replace.
