Question

If my husband has worked for an auto auction for 25 years and never had any problems he was the locksmith for the auction for many years a few years ago they cut out all overtime and told my husband if he needs to do locksmith work outside of the auction to go ahead..so I opened a locksmith business that my husband does not even have anything to so with, he does not work for me.i have employees that I have hired. He resigned from being the company locksmith and was given a new position as a transportation driver the company has bought a locksmith company and has now told my husband that I can either sell my company or they are going to fire him. Is this legal?

Answer

No. It would be considered an unfair and deceptive business practice with respect to your business and wrongful termination with respect to him.
