Why does work done by centripetal force is zero?

Why does work done by centripetal force is zero?
An object moves in a circle at constant speed. The work done by the centripetal force
is zero because:
1. the displacement for each revolution is zero
2. the average force for each revolution is zero
3. there is no friction
4. the magnitude of the acceleration is zero
5. the centripetal force is perpendicular to the velocity
