Question

My wife was laid off from a mine office Friday by the company's Vice President of Finances. Reason being "lack of work". Why he did it is unknown to her. This morning the Mine Supervisor, the one normally in charge of hiring and firing, calls asking her why she isn't there and why somebody else is doing her job in her office. My wife was never reprimanded or written up. She did her job well but always felt as if someone she worked with who was over her did not personally like her.Is there any legal action that can be taken given that they laid her off for "lack of work" then hired somebody else to do the exact same thing the following work day? There are more details but for the sake of time this is the best summary I can write.

Answer

Call me. This situation may have a few other angles.
