Does the Minecraft world go on forever?
Yeah, even after you've defeated the End. Unless you're in Hardcore mode. Then the world is deleted after you've died. No respawning or keeping the world. It's automatically deleted. (Keep in mind theres no Hardcore mode on Console versions - yet). As of February 3, 2015.
