5 years ago my grandfather was taken to court for sexually abusing one of my sisters. I was interviewed as part of the investigation. He got 5 years of probation and is on the sexual offenders list. My question is how can I go about accessing the court documents? My sister is a minor, so is the case sealed? And if so can I access it since I was sorta involved in it?one more question do I have any legal right to my child advocacy files? This was the place were I was interviewed. My grandfather was prosecuted in illinios in lee county. I however live in Delaware and this is the state I was interviewed in. Thanks for any help

My guess is that the files are sealed to protect both you and your sister. You won't be able to open them w/o a court order and you are unlikely to get that without some life-threatening issue being involved. Idle curiosity or personal "need to know" will not be sufficient to open the files.
