Would Jerry Sandusky have been questioned by law enforcement prior to the Grand Jury Indictment?

Question

Would Jerry Sandusky have been questioned by law enforcement prior to the Grand Jury Indictment?

Answer

Was he? I don't know, I haven't followed the case that closely. I'm certain the police would have wanted to question him prior to taking the case to the district attorney for prosecution, but if he lawyered up, they probably didn't have access. It doesn't sound as though they really needed him to make incriminating statements in order to have a case. There seem to be many witnesses, including a graduate student and a janitor who state they actually saw him engaging in sexual acts with minor children, available to testify against him.

The tragedy here is that it took so long for these allegations to come to light, when there were eye-witnesses to the abuse, and that is what makes mandatory reporting laws so important. In Kentucky, anyone who knows of the abuse of a child is a mandatory reporter.
