Why did Geraldine Edwards Robert Palmers girlfriend turn down an offer to pose in Playboy in 1976?
Although Geraldine Edwards was given an offer to pose in Playboy magazine in 1976 by Christine Heffner, she politely declined the offer. According to Geraldine's friend, Patti Davis, Griel Marcus was scouting for Playboy in 1976 and put Playboy in contact with Geraldine, who he had met backstage. Heffner offered her $35,000.00 to appear as a centerfold. Geraldine Edwards told her that she was flattered, but was just to shy to pose for them. She told her friend Patti that she did not like the idea that anyone with $3.50, which was the price of Playboy at the time, could buy the magazine and look at pictures of her in the nude. According to Patti, she said "You never know what these people are thinking about you."
