Is back child support owed if you did not know the child existed until he was an adult?
My husband I got a phone call from a one night stand he had 25 years ago that produced a child. We never knew anything about him being the father. They never spoke after that night. Are there any responsibilities owed to the mother or child? back child support, etc...

The one night stand would have had to file an action for paternity, and already obtain a child support order. If she has never filed anything, it is too late now. Child support is only retroactive to the date of filing the petition, not any earlier.

If the father was in fact served a paternity petition and an order was issued for support, then there could be an outstanding support arrearage gathering interest.
