Question

I work in a call center and there is a co-worker that is creating hostile work environment, he says comments that are sexual in nature, he says this stuff when the managment is that at work, the management has been told, and he has been told not to say those things. The problem is it continues when the management is not at work. All so I have been told threats have been made, when I went into the department they did not have goals and because I did a real good job, they said I raised the goal and now every body has a goal or they will get fired, I have told management and they have done nothing about this problem. The management has know about this for over 1 year, how do I get proof what is going on? Please help.

Answer

File a written complaint with your company concerning the sexual harassment and threats (though you did not elaborate on what type of threats). You mentioned that the harasser is a "co-worker." I assume this means the person is not a manager. Your employer could be responsible for allowing you to be subjected to sexual harassment if: 1. the employer knows of the harassment; or 2. the employer has reason to know of the harassment AND failed to do anything about it. My firm would be happy to confidentially discuss your situaiton and offer guidance.
