My husband and I are going through a divorce. He says that he has a lawyer but hasn't paid a retainer fee. I had to pay $25oo to retain a lawyer. How can this be or is he just simply not being truthful about this?

Is it possible that someone has decided to volunteer services or extend credit? Yes. Is it more likely that he has talked to a lawyer but does not yet "have" one because he has not paid one yet? Yes.
